Ya, I\'m posting from my google groups account because I still
haven\'t solved my F\'ing
Thunderbird problem. As I have said since I had a friend that
spent most of his time installing dozens of different modified
versions of Windows, \"I want to use a computer not fix a
computer.\"

When I was a youngster, my best friends dad used the line \"Who
knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!\"
And it stuck in my mind even though I don\'t think I have ever
heard the show. But I do listen to a lot of old radio using an
app on my phone. I like Gunsmoke, Dragnet, Johnny Dollar, Six
shooter, Let George do it, Philo Vance,
Richard Diamond Private detective and many more. I listen to much
more old radio programs than watch TV. Anyone remember Eve Arden
from \"Our Mrs. Brooks\" and many movies? She\'s a female actor from
long ago that stays with me.

These are the times that try men\'s holes.

That\'s different vibration than my hands might do.

I received a chuck for my Dremal after installing it, I checked the run out and it is way to much,
I put the collet back on, still to much run out. The runout is at the base of the shaft, the bearing has no play.
By the time you get out an 1-1/4\' from the collet it\'s worse, no wonder I have trouble hitting a dimple.
The rubber vibration dampener on the rear bearing was deformed and allowed some wobble so I wrapped
a couple layers of tape around it, that didn\'t help.
I think I\'m ready to buy a new Dremel tool, but I\'ll be testing run out first thing to decide if it\'s the one I\'m going to keep.

Any other brands that you think are better quality?

I use Proxxon. I usually drill 0.3mm ground vias with it.
30 AWG wire fits just so. No problem to hit the eyelet.
But I don\'t use it for grinding or anything that presents
off-axix loads.

I might be confused, but all I find is a Proxxon rotary tool that you can buy and then you have to buy a separate power supply in order
to have variable speed. or use any 12V power supply but it will run a max rpm. Seems like a poor selling plan, looks good at $40,
until you read and find you need a power supply that is $45! Is there an AC unit?

You must have dropped it from a ladder or something. Mine works
brilliantly--no detectable runout.

I use several Dremels, on my bench at work and home and one in our
shared lab. All work fine.

The continuously variable speed version lets you set the speed to
whatever makes the cleanest cuts.

Buy real Dremels and accessories. There\'s lots of junk around.

Here\'s a picture of my Dremel rig as it hangs around over my workbench:
<https://crcomp.net/proto/dremel.png> It\'s genuine all the way around.
The shaft extension enables it to function in the manner of a dental
drill. Look close to see a chuck at the end of its handpiece.
Truth be told, cheap eBay round burrs work well enough for my humble
needs. And again, as others say, there\'s no detectable runout.

Danke,

They\'re pretty cheap anyway. One thing that improves life is to buy a
bunch of the fibreglass abrasive wheels. The sintered garnet ones do
allow more precise work, but they fly apart if you look at them
crossways. (They also tend to load up when you use them on soft
material such as copper or aluminum.)

I\'ve had several. One was brilliant, lasted years of heavy use. One
lasted less than ten minutes use from new, and didn\'t work as well while
it was working. I don\'t think their quality control is very good.
