Just turned up a couple of thousand J113 FET's in my junk box
(Yes, it IS the size of a steamer trunk) and wonder what these are
good for? (I know. GPS. But what else?)

J113 - that's an N channel JFET.

Those are useful for making analogue switches, and also for RF
amplifiers and oscillators. If you can find a P-channel equivalent you
can make some "lambda" diodes which can be used to drive an LC tank
circuit.

They can also be used with the gate connected to the source, as
constant current diodes- I've used those a few times to save space.
You can parallel them in this mode to increase the current output.

I think I have one of those in my junkbox, so if you email me I can
send you the pinout. You can work this out fairly simply, the gate is
usually the centre pin and it doesen't matter which way round the
drain and source go with these.

If you've got a lot, put them on Ebay :)

Got the specification.
Application examples was my need.
(Useful to see how others use them. Limits mistakes some.)
I hoped they would be as useful as a 2N7000 or similar. NSL :)>)

I only have 2,000, just one bag full.
Hardly worth bothering with. :)>)
The list price is $0.122 ea. And they ARE currently available.
