I can imagine the technically correct salesman responding to an enquiry:

Customer: " Do you sell AA batteries?"
Salesman: " Sorry, we don't have any."
Customer: " Well what are those behind you in that shelf there?"
Salesman: "They are AA cells."
Customer: " Well, why tell me you don't keep them, you..."
