Huge Electronics Hoard on Ebay

You don't see this all that often:

The most amazing thing is how much they want for it all, not
$20,000, that's just the deposit.

It works out to almost $14,000 a pallet! How anyone could
imagine that the mostly broken and outdated stuff in the
pictures could be worth that much, I have no idea. Then
again it would be the sort of person who didn't know which
end of a number to put the dollar sign on...

Seems he got a stern talking-to by Ebay regarding sale fee
evasion.

less than 1% of their fee.

So what has he done now other than bump the "deposit" up to $50,000?
So Ebay now get 2% of their fee?

Well the basic selling limit on Ebay is around $20K, so I expect
they've extended it to $50K for him and agreed to bill him for
the total fee on $2.5M if it actually sells. It's the only way
I can imagine them letting him relist it, unless they actually
_are_ happy with a 2% fee (I doubt it).

ebay stands to get nothing, there is not a hope in Hades of selling at
anywhere like his aim.

The listing with the $50,000 deposit now has the same status as the
original one:

I have a collection of post-Pentium M but pre-dualcore pre-Lenovo ThinkPads
(in various states) that I'm thinking of getting rid of but I know that it's
not worth anything like the total of what I paid for the individual machines
at various times over the last 15 years.

I wonder if he tried promoting a huge electronics garage sale over a few
months whether he'd get a few buyers in and at least shift some of the
stuff.

There's plenty of hobbyists who'd fork out 5 bucks a piece for some of
that stuff at least.

He could put it all in a big barn and open a second hand business ,Hare
and Forbes used to have tons of stuff like that.
