Ok you won :) I made a little mistake in counting the voltages.
Anyways, a diode from fuse to ground is a bad idea :)

That's funny!

We both won.

You were right about the long lines/inductive load and I was right about
the polarity of the spike, so you were right that the circuit needs a
diode in it, and I was right about that it needs to be connected like
this:

+DC>--+--[FUSE]--+------+-->>---////--+
| | | |
S | | |
PCH G--------+ | |
D | |K |
| | [DIODE] [LOAD]
[LED] | | |
| [100K] | |
[R] | | |
| | | |
GND>--+----------+------+-->>---////--+

The final circuit????

Al what is a FET and what is it used for. I am a new person in electronic
and I'm trying to learn all that I can

SHAUN

HEY I LIKED IT SO MUCH THAT I DOWNLOADED THE APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE,
SO THAT I MAY BE ABLE TO PRACTICE WHEN I GET IN MY ELECTRONIC COURSES

You're not off to a roaring start.

Learn to use this tool first: http://www.google.com/

Enough scolding. Here's the answer:

what do you mean Jeff? Am I too far behind to begin learning? If so please
help me get up to speed.

Shaun

Can someone please explain to me how to interpret these drawings? I have
not began the first electronics class yet, but this is why I joined this
newsgroup so that I may be able to get a jump on learning electronics, so if
anyone has the time please start at the beginning so I can at least have a
cluee of ehat you guys are even talking about OK

No Shaun, what he is saying is basically is "Don't
waste everyone's time" "Search google first" and
read up on a subject.

I find that kind of response a little harsh
and I would reply instead "FET stands for: Field
Effect Transistor. To find out what that is, do
a search using GOOGLE for FET and read up on it
first. If you still don't understand what it is
then post some questions here and we will be glad
to help." And most will

Try to use GOOGLE first and that will save you
from being mauled by the bears "most" of the time.
some are here to help and some like you and I are
here to learn.

Thanks to all those willing to help!

Actually, I kind of tend to disagree - I'm one of those guys who
spouts stuff that I think I know, and if it helps anybody, it gives
me a nice warm fuzzy feeling. :)

Admittedly, it's nice when the one who asks the question at least
acknowledges the responses. :)

Cheers!
Rich
