Well, this fact wasn't clear to me from the thread, and it was the
waveform that prompted me to use the "if."

Sorry I couln't be more helpful.

Thanks,
Rich

OK, sorry if I was bit sharp <g>. But I did go to some trouble in my
very first post to both *describe*
"I can't output a single POSITIVE GOING rectangular pulse (or a burst
of them)"

and *illustrate*

precisely what I meant, and in particular ruled out the use of the DC
Offset.

Terry,

I called Fluke in the US and they said that
1) The PM 5134 was discontinued in 1999
2) They did not have any manuals

I asked if their European offices might be able to supply a manual,
and they said it was unlikely. I searched manualmerchant.com and
manualsplus.com without success, and have contacted the Dutch site
mentioned in Fred Bartoli's e-mail. If I don't hear back from them in
a week, I might trouble you to make me a copy of your manual, and
would be more than happy to pay you for your trouble. By the way,
where did you buy your manual?

They definitely did have, a year ago, and told me that it was pilicy
to provide manuals for years after product itself was discontinued. So
I'd challenge that!

I'm pretty sure it was here:
Fluke Sales: Fluke (U.K.) Ltd, 52 Hurricane Way, Norwich, Norfolk, NR6
6JB, Phone (UK): 0207 942 0700, Fax: 0207 942 0701

Here are another couple of numbers:
Fluke UK 01923 2164003
Fluke Repair & Calibration Enquiries 01603 256633, Fax: 01603 256652;

I also have this email address: industrial@uk.fluke.nl

As mentioned, happy to provide specific details, but full copy would
be impractical for reasons I gave.

What FG do you use Win? What does its single pulse output look like
when set to say a +ve square or rectangular wave? Which of the two
baselines I illustrated?
I use an HP 33120A, which digitally generates the signal,
with complete flexibility. :>) You can get them on eBay
for about $1k or so.

Thanks,

I have one of theese too at home - great instrument. However odd that there
is no function to turn-off the output or easy way to set the duty cycle
below 20% or above 80% (one needs to use burst mode and other tricks)

Perhaps whatch out for the FG from Instek. VERY low price knock-off of the
HP33120A......

Cheers

I've sent them an e-mail - let's see if they come through!
