the site contents are not being retrieved from my cache.

Adding url's to the hosts file is a good way of blocking a site or
batch of them you don't want.

I get redirected to some damned site titled "Blogoholic.info". (Courtesy
of some entity called "searchacross.com".)
I see a reference to "Blogoholic.info" in the source code. If you can
turn off Javascript in your browser, then I believe the site should
render OK.
I highly recommend OffByOne as an alternative browser for situations
like this. It is tiny, does not support JS or Java, does not use a
cache, and does not write to your registry.

Actually, that was Adrian C, not me. But it did work, no reboot necessary
on XP.
Oh really. do you know what that actually does?
