Flash Memory Chip ID

I have a [free] "fake" 8GB flash drive that 'd like to reformat correctly.
The controller is a MW6208E but the chip ID's incorrectly. I have several
programs to reformat correctly but I can't figure out the true capacity.
The only markings on the meory chip are "M8XJ2P73QH"
Anyone know who made that chip or its capacity?
Thank you.

Thanks, that did the trick.

Folks, I've used the software on those sites and know this is a "fake" 8GB.
I would like to determine the maximum capacity of the chip so I can reflash
correctly. I've done this before but the chips were Samsung and I could
recognize the capacity. This chip has no manufacturer's ID that I see, only
the number stated above whioch leds me nowhere.
If anywone recognizes the part number, I would appreciate a lead.
Thanks.

The memory chip's p/n is probably fake, too.

This is the software that the author recommends for testing the
capacity of the pen drive:

I hadn't thought about a fake part number.
I've just "guessed" at the chip and flashed as 512 MB. A bit smaller than
what I would have liked.
It checks out OK with the testing software.
I may try 1 GB [more useable for me] later. Nothing to lose.
Thank you.
I have used that software and see

I see a reference to "Blogoholic.info" in the source code. If you can
turn off Javascript in your browser, then I believe the site should
render OK.

I highly recommend OffByOne as an alternative browser for situations
like this. It is tiny, does not support JS or Java, does not use a
cache, and does not write to your registry.

JW recommended adding the line
127.0.0.1 searchacross.com
to your hosts file, that worked for me AFTER a reboot on this Win98
IE5 system
Actually, that was Adrian C, not me. But it did work, no reboot necessary
on XP.

Could even be a broken Jscript on the page. In Firefox and IE6 it still
redirects as of right now, but turn of JS or go to Hi security in IE6 I can
see your page. Yes searchacross needs to be in "hosts" for sure. Hard to
keep up with all the garbage out there.

Good looking page. I hate using web authoring tools that add soo much
script and ads that debugging becomes a nightmare. Notepad and a few tags
do just fine for me and I sruce up as I go.

Thanks for the info. I have a SD card that used to be a 2G until I
formatted it in my old camera. Now it's a 1G and no utility I have tried
will make it a 2G again. I could have sent it back to K'ston but it would
have cost me shipping.

A little off topic; I had a small page on a free server but they would add
more and more java script for all kinds of advertising and finally popovers.
My answer was to put a java redirect at the top of the page to another free
server. If the viewer left JS off, no problem. If they turned it on, no
problem.

Adding url's to the hosts file is a good way of blocking a site or batch
of them you don't want.

Thanks
