Fisher Price Baby Monitor. Frequency?

Two units both powered by 6 volt wal warts; the portable end can also
use a 9 volt battery. Two channels. The portable unit has the number
71565; apart from that appears complete absence of any numbers, model
or otherwise!
Any idea what frequency these operate on? Frequency or any warnings
that might give a clue, not marked anywhere on box or units!
Acquired used; if there ever was an instructions leaflet there are now
none, other than printed on the box itself.
Thanks for any info. Terry
PS. Ah just found, marked on one of the end flaps of the box is "ID.
71565-0810". That's all.

Most of those things are ~49 MHz IIRC - stick an antenna on a frequency
counter and stick it close to the transmitting end?

Baby monitors can be found in the same bands as cordless phones. 49MHz
is old cordless frequency, while 900MHz and 2.4GHz seem to be the newer
ones.

The only departure I know about is DECT phones. Theyr'e around 1.9GHz.

My Guess is 49mhz. 49.860,49.970,etc....something around that area.

Thanks to all: No frequency counter here. Had tried picking up its
harmonic/s within the 88-108 FM band but nothing. That idea was based
on fact that some years ago I did pick up what appeared to be second
harmonic of a neighbour's baby monitor on car radio around 98 to 100
megs IIRC, and could hear every word in their house. I warned them and
a few minutes later they switched off.

Here trying to transmit across street to neighbour's house for a use
other than baby monitor and with the low power and both small
antennae, location of both units seems critical. I also have Al. foil
backed insulation in my house walls!

Units probably only a few milliwatts; because "Complies with FCC etc.
etc. ... ".

Many thanks for the opinion. If anyone does have anything definitive
as frequency band (not the exact decimal) would be appreciated. I had
wondered if we were dealing with 406 mHz. or something!

Terry

PS. Also have one of those older cordless phones, somewhere, which
AFIK operated around 27 megs! But not sure about its actual frequency.

There should be an FCC ID number that may give you more info if you
look it up on line - usually on the circuit board . . .

How about looking inside for a crystal?

49 MHZ - my scanner says
