Don't keep us in suspenders

We'll have none of your depravity in here, thanks...
Where then?

- do you have a URL for these beasts?

http://www.maxim-ic.com/1-Wire.cfm
is a pretty decent place to start.

Note I said decent, not indecent.

Yup, all noted. Thanks. :)

Over in that paddock against the fence, as you well know.

Sorrite.

John,

It doesn't. But what a normal refrigeration system knows is the internal
pressure of the system prior to restarting.

Rod Speed explained it quite well.

Can you please explain how ANY thermostat knows where the compressor cycle

If such a device exists, it's a Bad Idea. Switching a compressor off mid
cooling cycle doesn't do it a lot of good.

I am looking for a device that you plug a freezer power cord into and
then
this device into the power point. The device has a temperature probe
that
you put into the freezer and it allows you to control the temperature of
the
freezer independently of the internal thermostat. It simply reads the
temperature and turns the freezer on and off as required.

Anyone know where I could get one of these?

The type of unit I want to get would switch off a the set temp, wait until
the temp had dropped 4 degrees or so and then switch on again.

From reading all the posts it sounds like this will be acceptable.

So where do I get the unit to do this? There are heaps of units like this
for sale in the US .

Yeah, its technically completely routine.

So where do I get the unit to do this?
Dunno. I had a look for something similar for heating, and
there is surprisingly little buyable for the consumer market.
There are a few intended for heating snake cages etc.

Yeah, its always been a much deeper market at that level.

Presumably increased affluence/spending or something.
