Even worse, some young kid interested in electronics might read his post and
end up getting a really good deal on some books. We can't have kids reading

I guess so, If he was peddeling viagra in alt.electronics I would take a
different view. I am a capitalist, therefore I belive he has every write to
ask for money. I also do not belive that every offer of something "For
Sale" should be considered SPAM. The trade of goods for money is what keeps
this country going. Look around you. There is not one material thing that
was not or does not contain a product that sombody sold to sombody else. To
ridicule anyone just because they are asking for payment in un American in
my point of view.
It seems that the anti SPAM frenzy has gotten to a point that if anyone
offers anything for sale some is sure to jump all over them with belittling
and disrespectfull verbage.

Reading along a finding these exchanges gets as old and tyiring as finding
SPAM itself.

I see you are a professional and would like to think that such verbage would
be beneath you.

The books that this person is trying to sell may be of interest to someone
else who reads alt.electronics

I have fought on more than one occasion in defense of my country and what it
stands for. So, things like capitalism and freedom of speech are pretty
high on my list of what is and what is not important. ONE POST from a guy
trying to offer up some electronics books in an electronics forum is_not_
inappropriate and does_not_ warrant an ass chewing. However, some guy in a
news group trying impose his views of what is and what is not appropriate
and to limit another's write to free speech does.

sometimes leads to egos being bruised. Case in point, this thread,
where my position is that the poster who was advertising his
auctions on ebay was SPAMming the group. Your position seems to be
that it's OK for some SPAM to be posted, as long as you approve of
it, but not SPAM of which you approve. That seems a little
hypocritical to me.

I suspect that what you're saying is that if _you_ let an insult fly
that would indicate a loss of control on your part. That may very
well be true for _you_, but it doesn't mean that _I_ have to suffer
with that limitation. I see insults as tools (or weapons, if you
like) to be used to evoke desired emotional responses from
opponents. Anger, primarily, accompanied by the opponent's
frustration in not being able to return a superior insult if the
received insult was crafted skillfully enough.

Did you feel a little twinge when you read the part about "suffering
with that limitation"? That's how it works, and normally it would
have been issued If I felt I had been challenged by your taking the
position that I don't know what I'm doing. In this instance,
though, it was just an example.

Electric current can be used to slow or even stop the corrosion. With the
absence of an electrolyte and a voltage applied with the correct polarity,
would the reaction happen?
