This subject is patently disgusting!
I don't even think that's a penis.

If That was my penis I think I would opt to have it removed and live
life as a woman. I could even wear nylon panties and they would fit.

This link posted in 2007 has the same picture (so be warned)
http://www.moonbuggy.org/archive/2007/01/08/penile-burn-from-electric-fence/

The accompanying text indicates the injury was not a result of peeing on an
electric fence at all.

A reasonable request...although I would respectfully suggest that the
'Subject' line might have been your first clue. ;-)
The thing is - that injury had nothing to do with electric fences. It
was a massive burn injury that could only (if it was electrical) be
caused by a large and continuous current. Electric fences don't work
that way. First they are NOT 230v three phase (how would you even do
that?), and secondly they use a high voltage impulse every second or
so. Although it gives a severe jolt, it will do no damage.

So the caption should be "Don't microwave your dick" .
Good advice for anyone, IMO.

"Mythbusters" studied this with respect to the third rail on subways. It
turns out that there are two things preventing an electric shock. One is the
way a stream of urine breaks into droplets. The other is that it's hard to
get much current to flow through a pair of dry shoes.

I'm not surprised that this damage was caused by incompetent medical
procedure. This has happened to other people, including (supposedly) a baby
whose penis was disintegrated in a botched circumcision.

NOT TO MENTION that the site was a walking virus attack!
Only a quick reboot killed the attack.

Actually, that was the original meaning. The word awesome used to have a
similar connotation.
Quite so. And so it is with "appalling".

But apart from that, "horrific" does not mean "to make" anything; it's
an adjective. try "(to) horrify" as the verb.

Don't they teach these kids anything these days?

Repeat after me: "An acre is the area of a rectangle whose length
is one furlong, and whose width is one chain."

Pink Floyd?
Well done! :)

It suits a semi-ex-goth very well, "The Wall". I'm a miserable lonely
insular person who alienates all his erstwhile friends. It's uncanny
actually. "Animals" is my other favourite. I got an original first
pressing vinyl from eBay for not much. I was very pleased. Also a
"Meddle" from 1971, the year of my birth, that had _no_ scratches or
clicks on one side, and few on the other. I remarked at the time: If
only I were as well-preserved as that piece of plastic that's existed
as long as I have!

Yes, and don't forget that 'furlongs per fortnight' is a valid
measurement of speed.

Yes, but only for measuring the speed of snails, slugs and turtles. :)

drifting waaaay OT, but last month at a swap meet I picked up a video tape
for a dollar marked "pink floyd in Pompei" - early 70s, pretty nostalgic
including nostalgic production values - am I the only one in the universe to
have seen this?

I remember going to see that as a feature movie once upon a time. Got it a
year ago on DVD.

yep, that's it - though I must admit that the quality of the video tape is
better than the youtube snippet - odd how the video distorts at each bass
note - I didn't realize that the video and audio codecs were intertwined in
some way.

now back to the 30s, we will leave the 70s behind.

Maybe it's just me, but I found the actual story of that happened
to the poor guy more disturbing by far than the pic.
