discontinued IC

I am looking for a replacement IC manufactured by Mitsubishi
apparently exclusively for Sony. It is no longer available from sony.
The part # is M50439-519SP. Would appreciate it if someone could point
me to a distributor who might have this.Thanks in advance. D. Geiger

This will be a microcontroller programmed with Sony's code - if you can't find it as a Sony spare

part, you won't get it from anywhere else.

Try asking on news:sci.electronics.repair someone there may have an
extra chip.

Well, that certainly makes things harder.
Did you try Mitsubishi, I had one IC from a Zenith
VCR that Zenith kept sending the wrong programed
number as a replacement. Mitsubishi part, ordered it
from Mitsubishi, that one worked. All I remember
now is Msomething - three digits.
