Circuit simulator for IRIX

I have not used IRIX, or any UNIX (not counting Linux/*BSD) for a long time,
but I think EDA would make usage of 'number crunching' stuff.

Circuit simulation is doing complex mathematical calculations, after all.

if you make a distinction between analog circuit simulation. and digital logic
simulation. then large cnuma machines would be ideal for entire system level
simulations. however, the 'splash' sgi has with EDA tools didn't have much
significant impact for the rest of us Sun users (at the time).

now we must shudder under the shakles of poorly maintined linux
monstrosities... oops there i go again!

i thought the windows EDA revolution died out already? last i heard the machines
chrashed before most of the simulations or synthesis jobs finsihed. or are we
talking about nick knack design shops?

now we must shudder under the shakles of poorly maintined linux

i only worry about spelling when i'm getting paid for it.anyway, why should linux
be any better maintained than any other unix(tm) system? if anything, there's no
reason to expect any linux implementation to be immune to management problems for
non-trivial configurations.

I am not an electronics professional. Just an electronics hobbyist.
Even my 200MHz Pentium with 64MB RAM (the machine I am using to type this),
running Windows 98, doesn't crash with some complex simulations using LTSpice.
It just takes hours, but it survives.

I don't know why. Some people claim that Linux is the 'panacea' (sp?) of
software, that it can cure any problems, that it is the straight replacement
for UNIX(tm). I don't think so.

i dont' think so either. it's going down the same path unix(tm) went only faster and
with more variation.
