Hello everyone,

Has anyone on this forum taken a course from the "Cleveland Institute of
Electronics" (CIE), and if so, what is your opinion of the school? Is it
worth the money?

If you don't won't to reply on this newsgroup, please email me at jcd (at)
atlantic.net.

Any opinions will be greatly appreciated!

I don't know how they are now, but I took a course from the back in 1971.
It was for FCC license prep. The course was excellent. I did well on the FCC
exam.
Nearly four decades later they are still around.
Ask them for some graduate placement info.
Good Luck,
Tom

This is how to determine whether or not to invest in an education:

1) Find out if a local technical college or university will grant credits
for the course work.

2) Find out if local employers are willing to hire based on the education.

Oddly enough, Tom, I took one of their courses about the same time,
right after I got out of the Army. It wasn't a license prep course,
but it was pretty good. I learned a lot, and their instructors were
very good about providing thorough answers to my questions.

And their "2 pi" sliderule came in handly. :)

But that was a long, long time ago. I have no idea how they are
today. I didn't even know they were still in business.

I took the first part of their associates program whil in the military in
'85. It is a pretty good program but for the money a local community
college is much better.
