Does anyone know why cats like to piss on electronics gear,
especially guitar amps? This has happened to different ppl I
know, or is it just bad luck? The cats piss is very corrosive
if left there.

Sure, it's warm.

Any piss is corrosive .. it took me while to figure out ..why my new
leather shoes over time would have small blisters on them (top sides
etc) ..and I reckon it is the PISS that splashes when I use the urinals
... splashes from the bottom and sprays on the shoes..and if you do not
polish them regullarly .. blisters all over the shoes! ..
so now I polish my shoes as often as I can with shoe polish to keep this
acid off ,.. :)

Yep, that's the reality of it. If the voltage is high enough, I can
give you the tip that they DON'T like it ;-)

It is so funny how a conversation from a cat pissing on an amp has changed
to pissing on there own knee's and oranges taking protection off of lips.

Does anyone know how to stick to a subject at hand, he would have not posted
it if it was not of an important nature to him, and everyone just wants to
joke.

Well here is your answer, first I suspect the cat is a male since he is
pissing on furniture and amps of course because female cats squate wich
means that it would be on the floor, second it doesn't nesessarily mean he
is pissing but spraying his teritory and it is very difficult to brake a
male cat from doing so, but there is a spray that might be of help to you it
is called "Lassie" indoor outdoor repellent that you can get from any pet
supply store, it effectivly repels dogs or cats for 24 hours if sprayed each
day on forbidden areas.

I hope this helps you out

neither of mine ever has pissed on any electronic gear - and there is
tons of it in our workshop - and they are left unsupervised for hours
when we are out doing field service work. Only "accidents" they have
had have been on the floor - and once on a new copy of SC that had
just arrived and hadnt been fully read GRRRR !

is your cat male - and has it been nutted if it is ?
Maybe you need a litterbox and some toilet training ?

What did you do to the cat? Cats are smarter than many people think,
and are quite vindictive when pissed at you. They know what you value
and how to get even with you, but they also know where the "line" is.
The cat obviously doesn't like you for some reason, but knows that you
will not seriously harm it for pissing on your amp.

The cat piss or the amp ?

Tell the cat you have a friend that is a cray fisherman.

I believe you on the "pissing for revenge" theory. They are very
clever little creatures and I find that you can learn quite a bit
about people from observing how their cats behave and their nature
generally.

As for the revenge:

I recently fed my 2 some "farmland dry cat food" which they dont
usually have (the regular whiskas was out of stock at the time) and
after a few days they started to refuse to eat it.

I had one of those 10 L (appx) Tupperware type storers that I keep the
dry cat food in and had left the lid off while answering a phone call
after feeding the cats.

The larger cat of the 2 in the pic
http://www.geocities.com/kenreed1999/pussies.jpg
managed to squeeze his lower half into this container, squatted and
pissed all over the remaining dry cat food - just like he was in the
litterbox.

I was too stunned speechless to even react ! Can't get the piss smell
out of the plastic container either.

The lady friends four leg hair ball puked all over the food prep area
of the kitchen counter. Somehow, she thinks this is alright...
