Should I interpret the rating as 1800 WVDC or TS 1 and 8000 WVDC?

Does "LCSM" mean anything?

65 uF, 1800 Volt DC rated.

Don't know the TS and LCSM.

FWIW, the comma between the 1 and the 8 suggests that the capacitor
may be of European manufacture.

1.8kV in Euro format. Maybe French => TS = Tension (something) for
working voltage.

Yep. TS for "tension de service", which is the working voltage.

It could well be out of/for a photoflash/strobe of the
professional type.

original companies - SCR (est. 1949), LCSM (est. 1955) and SETA (est.
1936). The absence of a SCR mark may indicate the cap is pre-merger.

As for LCSM, they say it is a brand of of high-tech capacitors for
specialized applications such as lasers, cardiac defibrillators and so
on.

Hi all
Everything seems true.
I remember the "very old" French company LCSM in the sixties.

TS means Service voltage (in French Tension de service) meaning the maximum
voltage present in use.
