How about we just answer the OPs technical question -
grow up - or put a sock in it mate.

What's next Mr KLR? A technical question about car theft or how to scam
ATM's? Get lost you patronising prick. And don't call me "mate".
Well the OP did say "backup" mate, and you immediately accused him of theft
,mate. I believe that is illegal under Australian law, commonly termed
defamation, mate

Geez, the guy asks a simple question and gets a lesson on copyright!!

The easiest way to copy any DVD ( and i dont care why ) is to find a
freeware program called DVD Shrink.

If you don't want to "fiddle" this program will allow you to make a 1 on 1
copy of the original DVD, although be careful because the default is not to
include the DTS soundtrack, you have to tick the checkbox when it brings up
the list of all the video and audio streams on the disc.

If you do want to fiddle you can set it up so it doesnt copy subtitles,
useless audio streams (like alternate languages) or even complete parts
such as trailers.

When it's done you can either burn to your DVD burner or have it save the
files to a directory of your choice and you can then use something like
Nero for the actual burning.

Google search for DVD SHRINK, you'll be happy :)

Nero burns DVDs using it's own format which will play fine under Media
Player on your computer but not on your DVD player which requires
movies to be recorded in MPEG2 format.

Thanks for your help
