Sharon: You're not. You'll be stone dead in a few minutes.

Apparently, they're looking into the possibility that he was poisoned
by Mossad. The problem seems to be liver failure.
That'd be my guess. Adolf Sharon has been barking about no longer not
killing Yasser Arafat (torturous phraseology, but right) for some time now.

Hears hoping they give him a liver transplant.

The scrolling strip across the bottom of the Fox News screen just

Yup, still dead.

So we now know that he is either:

a) alive and well
b) stone cold dead
c) in a coma

I doubt (a) because he would be on camera.
I doubt (b) because of his religious beliefs. (bury within 24 hours)

So I guess I'll assume he really is in a coma.

Given (no pun intended) that Arafat was far more moderate in recent times than
many Palestinians, and that his death (yesterday/today/tomorrow - matters
little) will result in an increase in terrorist bombings and the inevitable
(i4ni) retailaition, the prospects for peace are severely dented. Given(sorry)
that Sharon has just moved to get Israeli settlers out of a contentious area as
a further peace initiative, I can't see what people think Sharon has to gain by
poisoning Arafat.

Its all a matter of political power. Sharon wasn't there when Arafat,
Rabin and Perez negotiated the beginnings of a peace treaty in Oslo.
His people threw a wrench into the works at Camp David (which is where
the Palestinians got the impression that the previous work was coming
unraveled). So, we have a decade of violence from which Sharon delivers
the Middle East. The problem is that he can't afford to have anyone from
the last settlement show up and grab any credit or it will look like
everyone was waiting on Israel.

From those in the know... he got chicken soup alright, with a little
ricin tossed in for spice... looks like his own kind bumped him off.

Where did you hear that? And how do you know it wasn't provided by some
helpful member of the Israeli intelligence services?

Not that I'd be surprised either way -- he's pissed off some of his own
people, and Sharon hates him.

Did you miss the original news reports? He ate his soup and fell face
down on the table.

I missed that level of detail.
