He had to issue a rebuttal following a report on Israel's lunchtime
news.
What are the Israelis up to? Surely they wouldn't try to foment a
power struggle in his absence, would they?

Reads like yet more Israeli propaganda.

Won't need to. I see two certainties:

1. he won't return except in a box
2. there will be a power struggle against the background of increased
terrorism, with the Israelis somehow blamed for his death and what follows.

Why not? They got his boy elected.

Thanks,

Perhaps we ("we" meaning George Bush in this context) should *impose*
a new leader on the Palestinians (in the interests of a peaceful
solution, of course). Any nominations? Henry Kissinger, perhaps? Or
Paul Wolfowitz..?

There is no need - the democratic process in that region consists of murder,
terror and kidnappings until the worst goon with the hardest men ends up on
top. He is then called 'prince'.

Is is, naturally, a Jewish Conspiracy if one happened to drop ones AK-74 on
ones foot on the way to 'the polling station'!!!

This morning French doctors declare that his condition "has not
worsened" in the last 24 hours. Translated, I think it means "he's
still dead."

No no! His organs are still functioning!

I think they need to maintain the fiction that he's alive until the
Palestinian factions get their stuff together. If they do the ball will
be Israel's to fumble.

That report has compelled him to issue a further strong denial.
"Strong" by a dead person's standards, that is.

What a nice bloke he was, though, eh? I mean, another prominent,
iconic figure of the last 40/50 years bows out. Kinda sad, really. :-(
Whoever next? Castro?

From those in the know... he got chicken soup alright, with a little
ricin tossed in for spice... looks like his own kind bumped him off.

Hey, we used to have ricin chicken soup all the time! I've heard that
in Louisiana, ricin red beans are very popular. And, of course, you
can't beat the Japanese and their fried ricin! My mom tried her
hand at potato ricin, but the ricer broke.

Where did you hear that? And how do you know it wasn't provided by some
helpful member of the Israeli intelligence services?

Not that I'd be surprised either way -- he's pissed off some of his own
people, and Sharon hates him.

Apparently, they're looking into the possibility that he was poisoned
by Mossad. The problem seems to be liver failure.
