Well, the boss did stand in a xylene spill, with his rubber soled shoes,
a
little too long. When he tried to leave, one shoe stayed and the other
got its sole thined out as about 20% was still on the floor.

How hard was it to get him to step into the xylene?

It was totally self inflicted! The spill was near the chemical drain and he
went in to wash some wafers in di water then methyl and finally N2 to dry
them.
