A ttl level delay question :-)

Hi,

I need to have some ttl level delay (i'm using 74LS type of components).
Something around 1msec.

So I guess a RC with 1k and 1microF should be ok ...

--- R -------- Smith Inverser ---
C
|
--------------

But wait a sec, (I try to understand in my old ttl databook what is
really a simple gate (transistors and all that stuf ... )

I guess I should use something more like

inverser ---- R --------- R -------- Smith Inverser
C
|
------------------------------------------

cause gate can also sink current ...
The front inverser serve as buffer front other gates...

Am I right ? Is that the way to do delay like 1ms ?

:)

I never heard of an "inverser"...what part number is that?

Just look up the regular TTL part number and
write it backward.

He probably ment an schmith trigger with inverted output. 7414 is the
number.

I was simply pointing out his made up part name. I actually do know
what he meant. Its a way to make them remember.

I recall a magazine article where the author stated, "...the voltage
through the circuit...". That one needed some basic info as well.

Thanks for blasting of people ! We need guy like you !!!

This remind me to blast english people who are not fluent in french :)

BTW I also repost a corrected version and some people find quiet
acceptable to give some constructif comments.

Thanks, not everybody are like you :)

It was tongue in cheek, a jest and I think he understood. However,
feel free to prod me when I make mistakes...it's okay.

Judging by what most English people I know say, that is what most French
people do, on their own home ground.

Fortunately, I'm not English. Now my Grandpa was....
Also, I wouldn't attempt to speak French. Spanish is
more useful here.

That hole under your work bench isn't a bomb shelter. I hate to tell
you this, but the management lied, again. :(

And if you manage to hold your boss down and wrap him in it, how long
will you keep your job? ;-)

Umm, oh yeah, remove the tp from the stall and he'll be trapped there.
That's
the ticket!

doorway.

We used packaging tape all across the dorm door jam...in the early A.M. when
the victim got up to go, they'd walk right into it.

How about crazy glue under their shoes, so when they run for the door
a quitting time, they have to do it barefoot? ;-)

Well, the boss did stand in a xylene spill, with his rubber soled shoes, a
little too long. When he tried to leave, one shoe stayed and the other
got its sole thined out as about 20% was still on the floor.

How hard was it to get him to step into the xylene?
