I've got these diodes, off some old monitors, but I can't identify what
kind they actually are.

I've seen them represented as
(Here goes some fancy ascii art)
__________
--[ --> <-- ]-- And --|><|--
ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ
(Woo, that was fun!)
There are three coloured bands on them, with one isolated on the end
from the rest. The diodes are fairly small, about the size of a 1/4 -
1/2 W resistor, and look like a glass tube, with a secondary
compartment inside. From the second symbol I've been thinking that
they might be gunn diodes, but these monitors are old, and I've got
doubts that they had many applications for quantum tunnelling back
then.. Plus, from GIS, they just don't look right.

So, yeah, any help in ID'ing these thing would be appreciated.
Cha
Chris.

They could be spark gaps or some other sort of overvoltage protector.
