Yup, that's exactly it..

** Nope - the 9 volt batteries on that page are mostly ( if not all )
made from 7 cells - so are 8.4 volt nominal.

All the 200mAh or better ones *** SPECIFY ** 8.4 or 8.6 volts
nominal.

Read the fine print carefully - you dickhead.
I suppose you didn't notice that a third of the batteries on that
page are true 9.6V 8-cell batteries, which was what I was looking
for in the first place.

** There is no mention of ANY of them having 8 cells.

An 8 cell NiMH would test at 11 volts or more after charging - NOT
9.6.

which was what I was looking for in the first place.
** Quote fron YOU:

" I suppose you'll say those figures are false. Does anyone
have any real-life experience with these high-capacity 9V
NiMH PP3s?

260mAh 9V - http://www.thomas-distributing.com/ip_9V_260.htm
200mAh 9V - http://www.thomas-distributing.com/ap-200-1.htm "

The above are all **SPECIFIED** as 7 cell batteries - ie *nominal* 8.4
volts.

That ***blatantly shonky*** web site keeps using the term "actual" to
mislead readers.
