If i have to explain it, I meant that the religious right have no idea

They can't understand a joke about their belief system.

Humour is usually directed at things people are uncomfortable with - but
are willing to examine or at least listen to alternatives.

It doesn't work when you only live in a monochrome world. We are good,
everyone else bad. Liberals bad, republicans good (and vice versa).
Blondes are stupid, brunettes are bright...(I'm a blonde, well, at least
I WAS blonde - mostly grey now.)

It people can't laugh at themselves then they are pretty much sheep. Baaah!

I'm a thoroughgoing supernaturalist Christian myself--an adult convert.
I don't know anyone who resembles your caricature.

(The modifiers shouldn't be necessary, of course, but there are a lot of
wolves in sheep's clothing these days.)

I doubt you have any significant understanding of what the religious right is other than the cartoon characterizations of it on the various media outlets.

Huh, Walter Cronkite (WC) was just a man.. full of flaws.
I've called Joe Rogan the new WC. That doesn't mean I agree
with all his wacky ideas, only that he's the best voice for the
'common man' that I've found.

Sure, but the video clip was presenting him as really being a Satanist,
which is retarded.

Oh, you can duck the question if you like.  But you can't claim a
privileged status for your view.  "Rational", forsooth.

Phil, you're a lovely guy. I'd love to discuss this over a beer
sometime. I've even written about it - quite a lot, in fact. I just
don't wish to continue this discussion here.

Sure, if you're prepared to stop calling me nasty names because you got
your nose out of joint.

I didn't call you anything. I described your behaviour, and illustrated
by comparing it to related behaviour.

See, there's the difference again.

BTW, the key point in my response above was "epistemology". Everyone
thinks they're rational (more or less), so it's a nonsense category. But
when you start seriously asking "where do ideas/beliefs come from?", it
opens a whole can of worms.

"Related" in the sense of containing all the (excrement) you could find
to fling at me. Much like a howler monkey.

So rational, so compassionate, so....well, not.

I might remind you, my alleged sins were to ask 'medusa' if she were
Australian, and then (with a smiley!) to say that "you lot do have a bit
of form here."

I was teasing the saner Aussies here very gently, but (apparently
without self-awareness) you've done nothing but put yourself in the
antipodean loonie camp.
