1/8" male audio jacks

Does anyone knows what is the stuff the thin stripes on 1/8" male audio
jacks are made off ?

If they are metal, brass colored and springy, then it's phosphor bronze.
 
Thanks for your answers guys! I guess it must be plastic in my case. I was
asking this because I have an headset that one of the 1/8" plug has a kind
of small hole in one of the stripes causing the voice in songs (center
channel I think) to not be there. Anyone knows if there is a way repair that
without having to cut off the jack and put a new one ? Thanks again.

You have to change the connector. These are not very expensive. You will
need good soldering skills and a good soldering station to a nice job at it.
Most TV service shops would charge only a few dollars to put on a connector.

Cutting off the plug (not "jack") and replacing it is the normal way to fix
it. This requires some soldering skill.

You say the "center channel" is disappearing. It sounds like you are
actually losing the ground connection so that your headphones are then in
series rather than in parallel, and you are hearing the difference between
left and right.

That means the lost connection is on the sleeve of the plug (the longest
segment), not the ring or the tip. (The 3 parts, from end to body in order,
are called tip, ring, and sleeve.)
