Hi all. I have a circuit diagram that calls for ZTX550 and ZTX300 PNP
transistors.

My local supplier (Australia) does not recognize these numbers. Does
anybody know of an equivalent?

Thanks in advance - Gus

Gus , if you can determine the base, emitter , collector current and
voltage and frequency; you should be in a position to substitute in
some common xsistors or ICs

My book does not show the ZTX550
but the ZTX 300 is listed as a Ferranti
Silicon NPN Low Power Transistor.
300 mW collector dissipation @ 25C
hfe ~50 @ 10ma emitter current.
Collector Max voltage 25v.

Hope this helps a bit.

Hi Gus

check out www.zetex.com to get some specs on these transistors.
These are high performance transistors and will be difficult to substitute.

Good luck

Mabe , it depends entirely on the circuit it is used in .

I once got a junction power transistor to work fine in a circuit
designed for a power-JFET . ( the manufacture schematic did not
specify that , only discovered it when they sent replacements , and it
was not curve-tracable( trashed totaly) )

This was used to turn-on the nav side of an aircraft radio , so
naturally I eventually installed the power JFET from the MFG when it
arrived instead since it was avionics )
