ZTX239 Transistor Replacement?

Can anyone suggest an alternative for an old Zetex ZTX239 transistor, or
alternatively can anyone tell me its specs and I'll figure out an
alternative for myself? I tried some Google searches but (unexpectedly)
came up with nothing ...

If it helps, the transistor was being used to drive a small 7-segment LED
display so I can't imagine it's anything very special but it would be nice
to be sure before I wield the soldering iron.

ZTX239=BC239, you can use a BC547 instead.

You gave no indication of the polarity, package or pinout, so we're
only WAGing. If the current is a few hundred mA, then I'd consider
using a BC337 for NPN or BC327 for PNP, if the pinout matches.

ZTX239=BC239
Thanks for that, I hadn't realized it was that simple!
