I have 1996 a zenith SY2568S I replaced the vertical deflection IC TAD8174
with NTE 5818 replacement which is the same ST chip, after about a year old
after a lighting storm and I think one low Ohm resistor from the flyback.
Checked the caps around it and it worked until just resently. It made a
poping noise when turned on and the Vertical IC had a chunck blown out of it
just as it had the first time i replaced it 4 years ago replaced all the
caps around it , checked resitors trasnistiors dioeds resoildered and try
connections. Now the TV has widly spread vetical retrace lines that fold
back to about the center of the screen and the folded back retrace lines are
mirrored at the bottem half of the CRT. Don't have a schmatic and would
like some help with this one.
