Hi,

I want to modify an arcade board to save the high score, so I'm
looking for some NVRAM to do it with.

Does anyone know an aussie source that would sell this kind of thing
in retail quantities?

I'm looking for the Dallas DS1220AB or an equivalent part.

Thanks

Jon

I sell ST 48T02's through my commercial business (www.sunrk.com.au) since
they're used in some older Sun systems. I don't know if they're compatible
with the Dallas part you mentioned though.

could try buying direct from the dallas web site.
and while your there get a couple of samples.
http://www.maxim-ic.com/quick_view2.cfm?qv_pk=2643

will need to register with them
then log in to get pricing info

depending on the part number and speed grade
they are around US$7.75 to 9 each.
weird appears the faster ones are cheaper.

RS or farnell will have them but won't be cheap.

Hi...

The 6116LA (2k x 8, static) just needs a pullup to +ve and it goes into
standby mode. This means if your unit uses a 6116, the 611LA, 2 diodes, a
10k resistor and a 3v battery make for an NV ram design with a 2-3 year
battery life. see
http://eia.udg.es/~marti/2003_2004/esteco/practica/pdfs/6116.pdf

As a bonus, the 6116 follows the "time honoured" pinout found in old eproms
such as the 2732, which meakes adapting them into an existing circuit childs
play.

Thanks all for your responses, sounds like it's probably about as cheap
to buy from USA for small quantities.
