WTB: video head for very old Philips VCR

Hi all,

I'm trying to find a video head drum for an ancient Philips VCR format
machine, from the 70's. Either a head drum to suit an N1500 series machine
or the later N1700 series. I'm hoping there might be someone here that's
serviced these machines in the past and may still have some parts stashed
away...

I'd also be interested in buying a complete VCR format machine, any model,
working or not. If anyone has one gathering dust somewhere that they'd like
to get a few bucks for then I'd love to hear from you!

I presume with the model numbers you are not referring to VHS, or even
Video2000, but to the very ancient and long since obsolete cartridge
formats.

Your machine should be in a museum, as I am sure the only spares will be
there also.

Yes, it is pre VHS. The system was actually called the VCR format.

I have some old tapes that I would like to transfer, as do some others that
I know. I have 2 machines that are working, other than a worn video head in
each machine. I realise that the format is ancient and that spares aren't
available through the usual suppliers, hence my asking on here...there's
bound to be someone around with some parts stashed away, it's just a matter
of finding them.

about 2 months too late, I ditched a perfectly working Phillips cartridge
vcr with about 10 tapes some still in original shrink wrap at the tip :(

It's always the way, but if you don't chuck something out, no one will ever
ask for it and it'll end up wasting space for years to come.

I also had the mint condition users manual and even the colour brochure.
