Hi All,

I'm looking for about 50 pcs of a max232 soic (150 mil).

I know I can get heap of then from US stores, but I need them urgently.. :)

The Australian distributors seems to all be out of stock.

Does anyone have any surplus they could spare me?

Cheers,
Trent

Obvious question, but have you tried RS and Farnell?

Dave :)

www.rockby.com.au seems to have MAX232CWE available. Try the "SEMI'S IC'S
LINEAR & SPECIAL FUNCTION SMD" section of their web site catalog and
search for 232.

G'day Trent,

Electus list the MAX232CWE (Part No. ZK-8822) in their latest
"Components" catalogue.

Cheers,
Andy

The OP requires the MAX232CSE device, which is a 150mil wide body,
not the CWE, which has a 300mil wide body. There are a number of
alternatives to this particular device, namely the MAX232ECSE, which
has ESD protection on its inputs, and the MAX232ESEhich is an
industrial temperature rated version. Of course there will be cost
differences, but since the OP requires only 50, then this may be
considered acceptable.

There are a number of manufacturers who can second source the MAX232,
such as Texas Instruments (MAX232D).

David Milne
