would you recommend a website for electronic parts?

I am about to get started creating circuits using avr or PICMico micro
controllers. I need to get parts such as breadboards, resistors, strip
boards, etc.
It seems like it is possible to beat RadioShack prices...

I am also looking for a nice PIC/AVR microcontroller programmer. I would
build one DIY but I think it is worth something to get a unit that has a PCB
(Printed Circuit Board) rather than a "home-made" board. I will not be mass
producing these so I really do not want to buy an expensive programmer...

I like the SI-Prog (http://www.lancos.com/prog.html) but can not find a way to
purchase it. The purchase site seems to be Italian money only... (Even after
I select English)

Would anybody recommend an inexpensive programmer for both ATMEL AVR and
Microchip PICmicro controllers? Is is unrealistic to get a programmer that
works on both types of chip?

Have you considered Picaxe - www.picaxe.co.uk
Much simpler than mucking around with PIC programmers. You leave the
PIC in place in the circuit and just download the (BASIC) program from
the PC as and when required. They are based on standard PIC chips.

If they allow you to pay using PayPal, then PayPal will do the
conversion for you.

Also, I think that Italy is a member of the EU, and they should accept
Euros.
