Worth repairing a breadmaker?

Breadmaker: Repair or Replace?

Is it worth repairing a Black & Decker bread machine, or should I just
buy a new one? This breadmaker has near-impossible to remove screws.
Thanks for all opinions.

Since you ask for opinions, I wouldn't bother trying to repair it.

How are we supposed to know when you gave no clues as to the problem? For
all I know it could be a cracked solder joint that will take 10 minutes and
no parts to repair, or it could be a burned out proprietary motor that will
be impossible to source.

Jayne Findhorn:
As you probably recognize, you did NOT post any symptoms, detail any initial
troubleshooting that you did, the Model number, or history of the unit......
so, are you really expecting a specific and accurate guess as to what it
will cost to fix the breadmaker. This is like asking a car mechanic on the
phone if your car is worth repairing or should you just buy a new one......
I suppose that if he also sold cars he might tell you to just buy a new car.
Because "most" of the techs on this newsgroup do not have mental telepathy
or a crystal ball, you will definitely NOT be getting an intelligent or
accurate answer..... or even an intelligent guess. This is just not going
to happen over the internet or with a telephone call based on the
information you are giving out...... a halfway knowledgeable person will
actually have to see the unit and perform a basic diagnosis and do some
initial troubleshooting.
The best suggestion I could give you is for you to look in your breadmaker
manual and find out where a Black and Decker service center is that works on
the breadmaker..... at the very least you should obtain a repair cost
estimate so you can make an intelligent repair decision with actual facts
instead of just guessing that it will cost more to fix it than to replace
it. What if it would cost just $25 to fix it? $30 ? $19? Get the
facts and then you can make an intelligent choice

Normally, no. Not worth it, other than new bucket/paddle. Black &
Decker? definitely not.
Buy one that does a decent job of it.

Depends on the symptoms. Did one where the only problem was a blown
thermal fuse.
