Wire size question

Guest
Hi,
If I have a 10 hp, 230 vac, 3ph motor with a current draw of 24 amps.
I would fuse it with a 30 amp time delay.

OK now my question. Do I wire it with the capability of handling 24
amps or 30 amps?

Thanks for the help.

you calculate 25% over the Max expected current.
so,
24 * 1.25 = 30 amps

Is the minimum to start with, then you have length of
wire to consider.
