wi-fi range extender

Does anyone out there have any information on WiFi Range extenders,
schematics etc... I have an 802.11b base station (2.4Ghz) that I want
to build an extender / amplifier for.

Opps, just noticed a typo in my request... I am actually looking for an
802.11g not "b" range extender. Any one got any ideas?
