How much longer are my Japanese-made Sears TVs from the 1970s
going to last? They still look bright and sharp and have had nothing
done to them except for replacement of some electrolytics, color
tweaks, soldering of the wirewraps (bad design -- stranded tinned
wire), and cleanings of the mechanical tuners every few years.
I had actually planned on getting rid of them about 20 years ago
until I learned that they were built after the feds started to require
fire-resistant cabinets.
