Why is it that some posts remain in tact for months while others are chopped
up and become Re: dadada after only a week.

I guess this has been asked before but there has to an update to it.

I guess someone just decides to chop it.

I can not see my posts at all, unless they are replies to others' posts. I
can see replies to my posts sometimes, which tells me other people see it ..
but not me.

True for this particular board. When I post on other boards, I can see my
posts. And this board is not moderated. Or so I been told.

Usenet is a distributed message system, with messages held and shared
between tens of thousands of different servers.
You want to talk to the operator of the server you're posting from,
it's not a general problem.
Alternatively, you may need to read your newsreaders manual.

My gues is that it is becuase you are missing inbetween posts on your news

server, posts that refer to previous posts that have been lost get stranded.
many news server feeds just cant keep up and lose posts.
