TRANSLATION: Wanted - naive geek who is hopefully more interested in any
employment in electronics than earning real money. Prepared to offer "up
to"
minimum wage.

You will be self-educating, since we won't train you...We don't know what
training is.

You should live with your parents since you certainly won't be able to
live
elsewhere on what we will pay you. Alternatively, you can live in the
workshop since you will be spending most of your time there anyway.
Remember, there is no such thing as overtime!

Our luxurious facilities feature the latest in service equipment - A $15
multimeter, Dick Smith soldering iron, and a roll of (cheap knockoff)
Soderwick. The airconditioning is broken, but that's OK, since YOU can fix
it.

You should be so clever that you don't need 'crutches' like oscilloscopes,
desoldering stations or, *heaven forbid*, schematic diagrams.

An inferiority complex would be a real advantage as we will treat you like
dirt and you will be constantly passed over for promotion or a pay rise.
This will also prevent you from realising how pathetically underpaid you
are
even while the clueless managers and salesman in our organisation get 120k
+
bonus + car.

Oh, and by the way, you will NEVER be invited to the office parties...

** I think you summed the nature of that job offer up rather well.

The voice of experience, I bet.

............... Phil

Must accept pay based on the amount of equipment repaired per week.
5% per item. Anthing that bounces will have the cost of repair deducted
from the tech's salary. ;)

I'd love to work for an organisation with such a wonderful website. not.

That would probably be one of your first tasks - teach them how to use
FrontPage!!!

LOL!

hmmm.. Ok

why because 5% = 20 jobs per week, 4 jobs per day.
I can choose not to attempt to repair these jobs that look like they
could take too long. No?
If i have to pay for the cost of the job if it comes back, is that at my
rate $15/h or you charge out rate $70/h ?

well I wont look at those expensive jobs. since you are going to have to
turn away a lot of jobs, these people will go elsewhere.
"elsewhere" will also need to put on a tech, that could be good for me,
oh it could be me!
I could go into business for myself in no time flat.
