They say the rabbits at Hanford in Washington glow in the dark from
the nuclear waste there. I'm not sure if that's mostly Plutonium or
Uranium, but you should investigate. Might be worth your while.
Probably hard to catch, tho.

Of course, uranium comes out of the ground. That's why there was
a wave of "uranium prospectors" in the forties and fifties, trying to
make big bucks by finding the bonanza. Look in the back of the magazines,
and there'd be ads for geiger counters to help you find the stuff. Look
on TV programs at the time, and geiger counters were pretty common,
as people tried to find uranium. I can imagine some of the hobby magazines
had construction articles for making your own geiger counter for this
particular use.

Of course, finding enriched uranium, or plutonium, is a whole different
matter.

There's still one bar of depleted uranium from the Korean 747 that
crashed in Hatfield Forest that was never found.

Just remembered you can get Uranium Glass marbles from a number of
sites on the WWWeb. I've got a handful of them, they glow really
brightly under a blacklight, but my dosimeter only measures a doubling
of the background radiation.

That's funny, because the US Military actually is very good at

He can start at

http://www.webelements.com/

a really nice place, last time I search for heat dissipation value, for
copper and aluminium, well, they said that heatsink with copper center
are more effective to dissipate heat than full AL, I went there and find
out.

Maybe he will also find useful information :)

If you put those in your pocket, you're liable to get gonads that are

You're a good freind, last time I asked my freind for uranium he
laughed at me!
What do you need it for? I can think of no resason you would have for
it, all projects requiring radiation can usually use radium, or
americanium which are available from common, everyday souces such as
smoke detectors, and glow in the dark watch dials from the 50's.

Usually I buy small amounts at Beds, Baths & Beyond.
But if you're willing to stock up, try Sam's.
