He's presumably after something a tad more hitech than that.Kent, there are many books that will cover these topics.
In fact it doesnt kill many at all.What they may not teach you is that the high
voltages in TV can kill you very quickly indeed.
Bullshit.TV repair and adjustment is not the sort of thing the
average person can do successfully after reading a book.
Bullshit.It takes years of learning by experience and
under supervision to start to become profecient.
Unless you have extensive knowledge of the electronics
involved I'd suggest you take it to a qualified tech.

TAFE college.
TV repair is not something you can learn by books.
