Whats the best colour miniature camera to buy

I want to monitor the front door as well as other rooms.

It has to be colour, work in darkness as well as light and also have sound.

It will be hard-wired so it doesnt need to be wireless but it would be handy
:)

So what should I buy? NOt looking to spend too much, maybe $40-70 each
camera.

Wrong. As always. Plenty do. And plenty have led IR
illuminators which still qualify as works in darkness, cretin.

colour cameras won't work too well in darkness. you'll need IR under low
lighting conditions, but you'll end up with a B&W image.

I've seen colour camera's go as low as 0.1Lux, but they usually price in the
$100's. Nothing near the budget you're asking for.

I have a 'low light' IR camera that can see as low as 0.005 Lux. But it's
not colour. I got it for around $45USD.

Try talking to a security surveillance company.
 
You won't get all that in color for $70. A B&W IR camera without sound costs $109 from jaycar. With color and sound it would
probably be $200

I may have for sale a mono Bischke camera that's rated to 0.01 lux without
illumination. 2/3" CCD, c-mount lens. You'll have to get your own lens though.
it's a bischke ccd-500, made in japan, 12VDC.

Been wanting to install it but haven't got around to it for ages now. A good
offer might convince me to just sell it.. :)
