Interesting antenna design. It got a bit damaged opening the card so I
fixed it up somewhat with photoshop.

I hate those things - too easy for someone to steal and then go on a
shopping spree. No PIN or signature needed !

Wonder whether you could cut a few tracks and disable just the Paywave
stuff, leaving the chip still working.

Glue some alfoil to it.

Glue some alfoil to it.

Drill a hole through the chip - the magnetic stripe will still work.

Not going to do you much good soon, they're all going over to chip and pin.

Worth reading the small-print associated with the card. At least some
banks will not hold you liable for fraudulent transactions made using
paywave. If your bank is not one of those - time to change banks.

Oh, and the reason signing is being removed as an option is that you're
only liable for transactions you actually signed for, not those that
someone else signed for, even if the signature looks like yours. That
is, although the banks are pushing the idea that removing signing is to
protect customers, it's actually to protect the banks.

Hardly a surprise, but it's nice to see someone local trying to actually
quantify it;

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-05-28/s/5483190

"Tap-and-go credit cards contributing to increase in crime stats, Victoria
Police say."

"Chief Commissioner Ken Lay said the number of deceptions, including when
thieves fraudulently use other people's credit cards, has increased by
11,600 and impacted on overall crime rates. The figures compare the 12
months to March 2014 with those from the previous year."
