What is this? S T B U X C 2 8 3 info required

Its in the SMD case, size about 4x3x2 mm, it sounds like transistor
but i must be some kind of diode, it has two terminals and a bar on
the top. I was used in HDD to protect against +12V being lower than
GND. When the PSU failed it became shorted. Anybody has an idea of
parameters? and it has ST logo on it but i couldnt find it on their
web site.

You won't, it sounds very much like a house-number to me. Hope you had the
drive backed-up.
