What is this part I found in the washing machine?

I have a late model Whirlpool washing machine. The motor coupler broke and I
replaced it without any problem. When I was reassembling the cabinet, I found
this part on the floor:

I can't seem to find a place for it. Does this part belong to this washer?

It looks like a in transit pin catcher that whirlpool puts in the washer to
keep the drum from moving during transit,but after the washer is used it pops
out and falls in the catcher .It's not in the service manual,but that's what it
does.
