What does 1-2-5 steps mean?

Hi

Can someone explain what does the term, for example, 'in 1-2-5 setps' mean.
In relation to Spectrum Analyser Frequency Scanwidth.

the scanwidth. For example, if your scan width was set to 1MHz, the
settings that you would run thru as you advance the control (turn the
knob) would be 2MHz, 5MHz, then 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, etc.
Basically 3 settings per decade of frequency.

the scanwidth. For example, if your scan width was set to 1MHz, the
settings that you would run thru as you advance the control (turn the
knob) would be 2MHz, 5MHz, then 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, etc.
