I use a 1740a it hasnt got the knobs on the left hand side the 1741 has
whatever they are, does lots of the 'scopey' things and does them as well as
can be expected, i gues tek scopes are always just that little bit better
tho. had to spray some wd40 on the switches on mine to get the delayed trace
to work and a transistor blew in the delay line receiver amp, but thats all,
also jamed a bit of card agaisnt the transformer to stop it huming loudly.
lots of them about i imagine.

The HP1741A is a great 100 MHz storage scope. I used to have one at my old job
and I still miss it. Only had one problem with it in 15+ years and it turned
out to be a bad 7474 flip-flop in the storage section which was socketed and
easily replaced. Assuming this one is in reasonable shape and the storage
works, it's a good deal. I do suggest getting an Operator / Service Manual and
maybe picking up a "parts scope" to cannibalize so you can keep it going.
