Hello people!

What do you suggest for free PCB design package? I looked at some from
companies that make PCB's.

www.pcb123.com : only works with Win2K and XP and 2003 (I use Win98)
www.pad2pad.com : requires DirectX 7.0 (I have 6.1 - bad experiences
using 7.0 or newer versions, on Windows 98)
www.expresspcb.com : it gives files only for their manufacturer.

If 256 pins is enough Vutrax works on Win95, 98, NT4, 2000, XP & Linux.
Its about 10MB to download (including tutorials) from either of
http://www.vutrax.co.uk (Main UK site)
http://www.protonique.com/vutrax (Central Europe Mirror)
Free for evaluation and DIY size projects up to 256 pin with
no time limits, no required internet access, or other tricks.
Outputs standard Gerber 274X, CNC etc.
Pricing for larger capacities is on the site.

If you can manage with the 100 pin limit, the free Pulsonix demo might suit
your needs:

Eagle from http://cadsoft.de provides a free version. If you want to move
up to a full version, price is reasonable. Eable is a little cumbersome to
use, but everything just works and it is very stable. Also, very good
support on their public newsgroups.

I am using Eagle right now. Cool program.
Thanks for all that help.

Your program also seems interesting. I will take a look at it, but I really
liked EAGLE.

I tried using Eagle light, but could not figure it out. I now use express
schematic and express pcb and then just copy the screen with the art work on
it, take it into paint shop pro, resize it, and it is ready to print.
