Weak volume on TV

Guest
Hi there :)

I've had a SEG television (CT 2801 UK) for the last couple of years.
Recently however It's developed a problem with the sound.

It started with me having to turn the volume up full blast to be able to
hear it. Then without warning after a few days the volume would revert to
normal when I switched the television on. This happened on and off for about
a month before it reverted to bad ways yet again and so far has not
corrected itself after a month. Needless to say, I don't expect it will this
time.

Does anybody have any pointers as to what the problem maybe? I still have
sound but I have the setting on full blast as we speak to hear it. Even then
it's a bit tinny. A couple of people talking in the room make it totally
inaudible... a real ear strainer.

hard to say.
could be a bad audio chip., bad outPut cap, a speaker that has been
over heated on the coil and is dragging the magnet, bad receiver chip
or digital volume control circuit in the Tv's CPU.. or it could be
just a bad solder joint.
Dirty/corroded connector for the speaker or anything on the audio path?
If the sound is weak, but you get alot of hiss or noise on max volume,
then the problem is probably BEFORE the amplifier. If it's just like low
volume, then it's probably the amp or after.
