Washing Machine Problems

I have questions on my washing machine. It doesn't spin, agitate, or drain
unless I have to unplug the power supply and replug it back after 30
minutes. Then after running for a while, it deads again. Do you have any
ideas what causing to these problems? I am thinking of replace the control
electronic board, which it costs about $200 not including the labors. Its
cost is almost the same as replace a new machine. My washer machine is
Kenmore and its model is 11020052992.

It sounds to me like the processor or some other chip (such as a driver
chip) is heating up and then failing. Allowing it to cool lets it resume
operation. To troubleshoot it, you should have a can of freeze spray and open
the box. When the failure occurs, try spraying the chips and when they cool
down, see if it starts working again.
Here is a thought- if the CPU is dying, then it will likely require
rebooting to continue operation. If a driver or output chip is dying, then it
should resume operation without a hitch.
Now, are you able to replace these parts if you find the faulty ones? Many
are surface mount these days.

30min cool down time suggests overheating of something with a greater thermal
capacity than semiconductor components.

If it's the controller chip, it's proprietary and the only replacement you can get
is the whole circuit board so he doesn't even need to worry about component level
repair.

Depending on the level of cooling needed to get it to run again and the amount of
space available, he might be able to get away with gluing on a transistor heatsink
